Longi captures the purity of the figurative form as it melts into soulful bronze magnificence. His works are shown in prestigious galleries and private collections around the country. His large-scale public sculptures can be viewed in Las Vegas, Laguna Beach, Los Angeles, and Ventura. To feel Longi's passionate energy is electrifying. Meet the artist and you meet the visceral and visual intensity of someone who has created a unique method of casting bronze into one-of-a-kind, truly original works of art. No series. No editions. You will see how sketch turns into evocative sculptural form. How the metal has a mind of its own and transforms space and time. In his work, "Reboant" , you see the strength and powerful transference of the artist to the art. A transformation of the prizefighter into raw beauty and pure form. Both the challenged and the challenger breaking free—resounding loudly…Come and witness how the art of Louis Longi can transform your emotional landscape.
Joining the exhibition is James Verbicky recently selected for the Societe Nationale! Verbicky's take on his selection for the esteemed Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts (SNBA) at the Carrousel du Louvre is, in his own words, "an absolute honor." His "vast expanses of resonant color" have gained him entry into the history-making delegation of twelve of America's finest artists.
Verbicky was born in 1973 and began painting with oils and acrylics at the age of four. His work has evolved along a continuum that marks the transient moments of contemporary life with embedded objects, symbols and movement in layers of color.
Verbicky was first recognized in California for a commissioned piece done on one of the Frank Gehry Spheres displayed at the Hollywood Bowl. Today, he shows widely in galleries as well as fine and famous homes across North America, including the Frank Sinatra Estate in Northridge. Current collectors include the new face of Calvin Klein, Lara Stone, actor Cameron Mathison, and the Chicago Art Museum. His work has most recently been featured in Riviera Magazine Orange County, Luxe Magazine, Kontact Magazine, and as part of the 2008 Emmy Awards Celebration.
"As an artist, I document passing moments in time and, in turn, create similar experiences for the viewer, capturing them in a unique atmosphere, drawing them through an image into a single moment of deeper meaning, moving through form into space. Art can draw the viewer into a more intrinsic moment, and it is in these moments that we evolve." - James Verbicky
The SNBA was first established in 1862 with the writer Théophile Gautier as Chairman and the painter Aimé Millet as Deputy Chairman. In 1864, just after the death of Chairman Eugène Delacroix, the Société ceased to hold further exhibitions until its revitalization in 1890. Since the early 1900's, it has been an annual juried exhibition in France. With the aid of such talented artists as Auguste Rodin, a former Vice-President of the SNBA, the Société has created a legacy of fostering the work of artists.
