Artist Bio

Artist Statement

My work celebrates Southern California life with humor, color and lots of movement. The terracotta sculpture is polychromed with unfired, ceramic stains and the paintings are done with acrylic paint on canvas. Both my paintings & sculpture depict rock and jazz musicians, surfer dudes, movie queens and even mermaids. I graduated from Pomona College in Fine Art and was fortunate enough to study there with the artist, Frederick Hammersley. I did my graduate work at the University of California at Irvine with arists, Robert Irwin and Ed Moses. I have exhibited in a multitude of galleries, museums and art venues in California, Oregon and Arizona and also have an Archive at the Smithsonian.
